Gran Gusto Italiano Sweepstakes
Full Rules



The "Gran Gusto Italiano" Sweepstakes is sponsored by Santa Maria Foods ULC. (the "Sponsor"). The Sweepstakes begins at 12:00 PM (EST) on August 31, 2009 and ends at 11:59 AM (EST) on October 31, 2009 (the "Sweepstakes Period").

1. How to enter: Residents of Canada who are the age of majority may enter the Sweepstakes by logging onto www.grangustoitaliano.com and completing the online Entry Form with full name and email address. Verify the validation code displayed on the entry form and click on the "submit" icon to be automatically entered into the Sweepstakes. All entries must be received on or before 11:59 AM (EST) on October 31, 2009 (the "Sweepstakes Closing Date").

Limit one (1) entry per person per day will be accepted during the Sweepstakes Period. If a Gran Gusto Italiano postcard is emailed to a friend, the participant will be given an additional entry in the draw per friend. There's no limit to the number of friends a participant can email.

2. Prize: There will be 1 grand prize available to be won consisting of a cooking experience for 6 people at the Canadian Institute of Culinary Arts & Sciences in Toronto. (Please note transportation will not be provided.) Approximate retail value is $500.00. There will be 4 secondary prizes available to be won consisting of Mastro and San Daniele Gift Baskets. Approximate retail value is $50.00. 1 Gift Basket per winner.

3. A random draw will be made by an independent judging organization on November 15, 2009 in Scarborough, Ontario at approximately 11:00 a.m. (EST) from all eligible entries received via email on or before the Contest Closing Date. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.

4. In order to win, the selected entrant must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by telephone at a mutually convenient time. The selected entrants will be required to sign a declaration and release form confirming compliance with the contest rules, releasing Santa Maria Foods (the "Sponsor") and affiliated companies, their advertising and promotional agencies and the independent contest organization from any liability resulting from the awarding of the prize, and confirming acceptance of the prize awarded. The prize must be accepted as awarded and no substitutions, transfers or conversions will be allowed unless at the discretion of the Sponsor, which may substitute a prize of comparable or greater value should the specific prize detailed above not be available for reasons beyond their reasonable control.

5. This contest is open to residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in his/her province of residence and who is not an employee of or domiciled with an employee of the Sponsor or its affiliated companies, their advertising and promotional agencies or the independent contest organization. By entering, entrants agree to abide by the contest rules and regulations and the decisions of the independent contest organization, which are final.

6. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrant. No responsibility will be accepted for lost, misdirected, late or incomplete mail-in entries, nor for electronic transmission errors whether as a result of technical, network, telephone equipment, computer hardware or software or any other cause that may result in inaccurate transmissions, omissions, interruptions, deletions, delay in operations or theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entries, or for failure to receive entries on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof. If for any reason the e-mail entry forms are not capable of operating as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, the Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest (which may affect the odds of winning).

7. The contest is subject to Municipal, Provincial and Federal laws.

8. For residents of Quebec, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
